ABOUT THE HERMITAGE

Hazelbrand is a hermitage in the forest tradition that is both ancient and emergent. Three monks: Cynthia, Margaret, Chaz - work, pray, play - touching the suffering world with compassion. Others come to be on the land, to teach, to paint, to pray, as poets or artists-in-residence, gardening, cooking, writing, studying.

Here in the forests of the southern piedmont, our center holds through Christ - yet the Hermitage is a melding of spiritual paths blending into daily office and meditation that touch the Sacred through animal-tending, forest and field-tending.

Walk with us through our seasoned lives of sacred soil, sermons and spirituality. Join us in morning and evening meditation from your own home - knowing we are One sitting together.
